Professor Zhuang Kongshao studied under the famous Chinese anthropologist Mr. Lin Yaohua, the first Ph.D. in ethnology (anthropology) trained in China (1988). From 2003 to 2011, he founded the Institute of Anthropology of Renmin University of China, and served as the director and professor in charge; in 2010, he established the Institute of Anthropology at Zhejiang University as the director and chair professor.
