李晨阳，山东人，1977年考入北京大学哲学系，1982年获取哲学学士。1984年获哲学硕士后留校任教。1992年获取美国康乃迪克大学哲学博士。新加坡南洋理工大学哲学系主任，美国中央华盛顿大学荣休哲学教授。他的主要研究兴趣在儒家哲学、中国传统文化、价值理论，和中西比较哲学。主要著作和编著包括The Tao Encounters the West（State University of New York Press，1999），The Sage and the Second Sex（ed.Open Court，2000），Governance for Harmony in Asia and Beyond（co-edited with Julia Tao，et al.，Routledge，2010），The East Asia Challenge for Democracy：Political Meritocracy in Comparative Perspective（co-edited with Daniel Bell，Cambridge University Press，2013），The Confucian Philosophy of Harmony（Routledge，2014），Moral Cultivation and Confucian Character（co-edited with Peimin Ni，State University of New York Press，2014），和Chinese Metaphysics and Its Problems（co-edited with Franklin Perkins，Cambridge University Press，2015）。
