李浩马新广君在原来博士论文的基础上,广事修订,六年磨一剑,撰成新著,问序于我。看到旧日的学生不断成长,在学术上崭露头角,作为他当年的论文指导教师,我乐于说几句话。2005年秋,新广风尘仆仆,负笈来陕,从兰州西北师大进入西大古代文学专业攻读博士学位。西北师大与西北大学均源自西北联大。联大后分立为国立五校,我谓之“一花开五叶”者也。两校分立于秦陇两地,不仅地域相近,学风亦有共同处。记得确立选题时,新广拟就文论或画论中的一些问题进行开掘,我建议他再朝前迈半步,可就画史文献中的一些现象进行深入研讨。我与新广反复商讨,最后确定以《寺塔记》为重点,对文献所见唐代佛教壁画进行研究。新广颇勤勉,刻苦三年,如期完成论文,答辩时同行专家对论文选题的开拓予以高度评价,对从文献角度搜寻画史资料,从地域角度考察各地佛教壁画的分布特点,给予充分肯定,同时也提出了不少好的建议。新广毕业后应聘到山西师大,在紧张的教学工作之余,不废著述,不断有成果问世。他在毕业第二年即以该课题申报教育部人文社科基金项目,顺利获得资助。新广当时告知我,我也为他取得的成绩而高兴。新广从图像学文献的视角步入唐代佛教壁画研究领域,涉及的学科多,跨度大,难度也大。唯其如此,创新的意义也容易突显出来。后来万德敬选择图像学视野中的唐诗传播研究,以明清为重点,也是受此启发。万君开始也有畏难情绪,我即以新广的例子鼓励他要勇于开拓。他由入门的艰难渐入佳境,发现这是一个富矿,可供长期开采,故整天寻奇搜异,乐而忘返。新广圈定的这一研究范围,也可供有才气有毅力的学人进行长期的可持续的开发。新广对本课题已有初步成果,但可值得深耕细作的空间仍很大,希望他有一个长期的计划,在此领域结出更大成果。特别是他执教之临汾,介山陕之间,杂秦晋之风,古来为灵秀之地,古迹遗存颇多,新广若能据地利之便,结合当地实际,进行深入研究,会有更大的成就。西大文学学科,除成长起一大批以创作著称的人才外,在古代文学研究特别是唐代研究方面也广有影响,前贤时彦成就很大,标杆也很高。对包括新广在内的青年才俊们来说,这既是一份荣耀,也是一种压力。其实在人文学术研究中,真正能扶树雅道、传承薪火已不易,要超越前人、光大事业那就更难了。但对于奇伟磊落之才来说,这样的代际挑战是自然的,也是必然的。我希望新广能不断开拓创新,走向自己学术的辉煌,也为中国学术的繁荣贡献自己的力量。谨为序。2012.11.2于故长安外郭城太平里西大校区

On the basis of the original doctoral dissertation, Li Haoma Xin Guangjun revised it widely, sharpened a sword in six years, and wrote a new book. Seeing the old students grow and rise to prominence academically, as his thesis advisor of the year, I am happy to say a few words. In the autumn of 2005, Xinguang came to Shaanxi to study for a doctorate degree in ancient literature from Lanzhou Northwest Normal University. Northwest Normal University and Northwest University both originated from Northwest United University. After the United Nations General Assembly, it was divided into five national universities, which I call "one flower blooms and five leaves". The two schools are located in Qinlong and Qinlong, not only have similar geographical areas, but also have common learning styles. I remember that when he decided on the topic, Xinguang planned to dig out some problems in literary or painting theory, and I suggested that he take another half step forward and conduct in-depth discussions on some phenomena in the historical literature of painting. I discussed with Xinguang repeatedly, and finally decided to focus on the "Notes on the Pagoda" and study the Buddhist murals of the Tang Dynasty seen in the literature. Xinguang worked hard for three years to complete the thesis on schedule, and during the defense, the peer experts spoke highly of the development of the thesis topic, fully affirmed the search for historical materials from the perspective of literature, and examined the distribution characteristics of Buddhist murals in various places from a geographical perspective, and also put forward many good suggestions. After graduating, Xinguang was recruited to Shanxi Normal University, and in addition to the intense teaching work, he did not waste his writings and continued to produce results. In the second year of graduation, he applied for the Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of the Ministry of Education with this project, and successfully obtained funding. Shinhiro told me at the time that I was also happy with his achievements. Xinguang entered the field of Tang Dynasty Buddhist mural painting research from the perspective of iconographic literature, involving many disciplines, large spans, and great difficulty. Only in this way, the meaning of innovation is easy to highlight. Later, Wan Dejing chose the study of the dissemination of Tang poetry from the perspective of iconography, focusing on the Ming and Qing dynasties, and was also inspired by this. Wan Jun also had a fear of difficulties at first, and I used the example of Xinguang to encourage him to be brave in opening up. He gradually got better from the difficulties of entry, and found that this was a rich mine that could be mined for a long time, so he searched for wonders all day and was happy. This research scope defined by the new broad can also be used for long-term sustainable development by talented and persevering scholars. Shinhiro has already achieved initial results on this topic, but there is still a lot of room for further cultivation, and I hope that he has a long-term plan to produce greater results in this field. In particular, the Linfen where he taught, between Jieshan and Shaanxi, mixed with the style of Qin and Jin, ancient times as a place of spiritual beauty, there are many historical relics, if Xinguang can carry out in-depth research according to the convenience of the location, combined with the local reality, there will be greater achievements. In addition to growing a large number of talents known for their creation, the Department of Literature of Western University has also had a wide influence in the study of ancient literature, especially the study of the Tang Dynasty. For young talents, including Xinguang, this is both an honor and a pressure. In fact, in the academic research of humanities, it is not easy to truly support the tree and pass on the torch, and it is even more difficult to surpass the predecessors and the great cause. But for the talents of Qiwei, such a generational challenge is natural and inevitable. I hope that Xinguang can continue to explore and innovate, move towards its own academic glory, and contribute its own strength to the prosperity of Chinese academia.
