中国社会科学网从2010年9月底由我奉命着手牵头筹办，到2011年1月1日正式上线，发展到2013年6月与中国社会科学杂志社合并，历时两年零九个月的时间。这两年零九个月是初创阶段。本书用文字档案和图片资料客观地记录了初创阶段留下的足迹，很简要，粗线条，故名“侧记”。

中国社会科学网肩负使命，任重道远，正在逐步变大变强，本书旨在留下一点档案资料。
