吴从祥原是山东大学中文系王洲明教授的博士生，临近毕业时，王洲明教授给我来电话，说他的博士生吴从祥想到复旦大学从事博士后研究，希望我能做他的合作导师。我与王洲明教授早就熟识，他推荐的学生一定不会差，电话中我毫不犹豫地答应了。于是，吴从祥也就很自然地成为我先秦两汉文学专业的博士后。

吴从祥来到复旦大学后果然不负导师厚望，二年的博士后研究期间，他抓紧时间，刻苦勤奋，出色地完成了博士后出站报告——《谶纬与汉代文学》，在出站报告评审答辩会上，他的报告获得评审专家的一致好评，从而获得了 【优等】 ——须知，复旦大学每届博士后出站报告中【优等】 占的比例很小。我为此感到高兴。

谶纬与汉代文学，这是一个不容易驾驭的课题，特别对谶纬，很多学者或有所轻忽，或不太熟悉，很少认识到它在汉代的历史上曾经产生的社会与文化影响，而对其与文学关系的探究，更是罕有涉足者。这既是好事，也是难事——好在因为罕有涉足者，对研究者来说，可以说出一些别人没有说过的话，甚有助于大胆出新；但这同时也是难事，难在研究者需要在这块领地上花费很大的功夫，搜罗爬梳，去伪存真，去粗取精，因为少有现成的成果可以参考。我个人认为，吴从祥这篇博士后出站报告，不光系统阐发了谶纬的概念定义、它在汉代产生与兴盛的历史与社会文化原因，以及历代对其的认识与评价，且对谶纬与汉代文人及其文学创作，以及与汉代文艺观的关系等，作了较为深入全面的剖析，其中尤其是关于谶纬与汉代辞赋、谶纬与汉代神话等关系的阐述，解析到位，不乏个人独到的看法与见解。

吴从祥的这篇博士后出站报告，在研究、撰写过程中，不仅获得了中国博士后科学基金的资助，且其中大部分内容，都先后以论文形式，发表在各类学术刊物上 (达15 篇之多，其中3 篇被人大复印资料《中国古代、近代文学研究》全文转载)。不仅如此，该报告顺利通过出站评审后，又申请到了国家社科基金后期资助，为此，吴从祥在原稿基础上，作了较大幅度的修改和补充，使书稿在学术质量上再上了一个台阶。如今，书稿已交付中国社会科学出版社，即将正式出版，作为合作导师的我，深为这篇博士后出站报告的整个诞生过程和最后结果感到欣悦，也因此欣然应允吴从祥的请求，提笔撰写这篇序。

吴从祥是个勤奋努力的中青年学者，从山东大学到复旦大学，再到现任教的绍兴文理学院，他一步一个脚印，脚踏实地，这些年来，已问世了多部著作，发表了几十篇学术论文，我为他问世的一系列学术成果感到高兴，也真心希望他在今后的学术道路上取得更大的学术成就，相信他一定会不负所望。

Xu Zhixiao Wu Congxiang was a doctoral student of Professor Wang Zhouming in the Department of Chinese of Shandong University, and when he was about to graduate, Professor Wang Zhouming called me and said that his doctoral student Wu Congxiang wanted to do postdoctoral research at Fudan University and hoped that I could be his co-supervisor. I have known Professor Wang Zhouming for a long time, and the students he recommended must not be bad, and I agreed without hesitation on the phone. Therefore, Wu Congxiang naturally became my postdoctoral fellow in the literature major of the pre-Qin and Chinese dynasties. Wu Congxiang came to Fudan University and lived up to the high expectations of his supervisor, during the two-year postdoctoral research, he seized the time, worked hard and diligently, and brilliantly completed the postdoctoral outbound report - "Zhao Wei and Han Dynasty Literature", in the outbound report review and defense meeting, his report was unanimously praised by the review experts, thus obtaining [excellent] - it should be noted that the proportion of [excellent] in each postdoctoral outbound report of Fudan University is very small. I'm happy about that. This is a subject that is not easy to control, especially for Zhan Wei, many scholars have either neglected or are not familiar with it, rarely recognize the social and cultural impact it had in the history of the Han Dynasty, and the exploration of its relationship with literature is rarely involved. This is both a good thing and a difficult thing - fortunately, because of the rare involvement, for researchers, it is possible to say things that others have not said, which is very helpful to be bold; But this is also a difficult thing, and it is difficult for researchers to spend a lot of effort on this territory, collect and comb, remove the fake and the true, and extract the essence roughly, because there are few ready-made results to refer to. I personally believe that Wu Congxiang's postdoctoral outbound report not only systematically expounds the definition of the concept of shenwei, the historical and social and cultural reasons for its emergence and prosperity in the Han Dynasty, as well as the understanding and evaluation of it in successive dynasties, but also makes a more in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the relationship between shenwei and the literati and their literary creations in the Han Dynasty, as well as the relationship with the literary and artistic views of the Han Dynasty, etc., especially the exposition of the relationship between the wei and the vocabulary of the Han Dynasty, and the relationship between the wei and the mythology of the Han Dynasty. Wu Congxiang's postdoctoral report, in the process of research and writing, not only received funding from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, but most of its content has been published in various academic journals in the form of papers (up to 15 articles, 3 of which were reprinted in full by the NPC copy material "Research on Ancient and Modern Chinese Literature"). Not only that, after the report successfully passed the outbound review, it applied for the later funding of the National Social Science Fund, for this reason, Wu Congxiang made a relatively large revision and supplement on the basis of the original manuscript, so that the manuscript has reached a higher level in academic quality. Now that the manuscript has been delivered to China Social Sciences Press and is about to be officially published, as a co-supervisor, I am deeply pleased with the whole birth process and final results of this postdoctoral outbound report, so I gladly agreed to Wu Congxiang's request to write this preface.
