The United Communist Party of Nepal（Maoist）is a communist organization that is founded by some party member believeing in Mao Tse-tung Thought within the former Communist Party of Nepal.Since its founding in 1995,the UCPN（M）has creatively integrated the basic principles of Marxism and Mao Tse-tung Thought with Nepal's actual conditions and Gradually form the theory of New Democratic Revolution with Nepalese characteristics.At the same time,the UCPN（M）put this theory into practice and make its own power and influence expand inceasingly.The UCPN（M）has become not only the largest party in Nepal,but the main ruling party as well after the development of over 16 years.The success of the UCPN（M）is a significant event in world socialist movement after the Cold War.Against the depressing state of the world socialist movement,its unique development path has given rise to wide attention.Therefore,to study the UCPN（M）'history,theory and practice and to probe into the reasons,significance,and prospect of the sucessful development of its New Democratic Revolution makes a very important task in the study of contemporary world socialist movement.

Guided by Marxism,this research probes the theory and practice of the New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）comprehensinely and systematically.The thesis comprises six parts:an introduction;the tortuous development of Nepal communist movement and the formation of the UCPN（M）;the theory of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）;the Practice of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）;the UCPN（M）'s association with other communist Parties in both Domestic and Foreign Countries;the reasons,significance,and prospect of the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）.The major contents are as the follows：

The inroduction illustrates the reason for The significance of choosing the topic,the present research situation,the research methods and basic ideas,inadequacies and innovations.

The first chapter mainly discuss and analyzes the tortuous development of Nepal communist movement and the formation of the UCPN（M）.Nepal communist movement is launched and propelled by the advanced elements of the working class and the intellectuals with the rise of the world socialist movement in the first 20 century and India's national independence movement,in the climax of the democratic movement against the feudal rule of the Rana family and under the influence of Marxism.In the 1960s,it split because the party leaders had serious difference on choosing revolutionary path or peaceful path.The UCPN（M）was established finally by some party members believing in Mao Tse-tung Thought.The establishment of the UCPN（M）opens the way for independently exploring the socialist road,but at the same time it has set the stage for its being involved in disputes and conflicts with Nepal's other communist party organization.

The second chapter mainly expounds the theory of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）.Since its founding in 1995,the UCPN（M）persists in integrating the basic principles of Marxism and Mao Tse-tung Thought with Nepal's actual conditions and uninterruptedly summing up lessons and experiences,gradually has established the theory of New Democratic Revolution with Nepalese characteristics.Along with the development of practice,the theory of New Democratic Revolution is also constantly get rich and development and initially formed a full-fledged system.Its main contents are as the follows:the general line and the basic program of New Democratic Revolution;the way and the three instruments of New Democratic Revolution.

The third chapter mainly expounds the Practice of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）.When the UCPN（M）has established the theory of New Democratic Revolution,it put the theory into practice and in return enriches and develops the theory.The UCPN（M）has involved the practice of the armed struggle,the ruling practice of the revolutionary base areas,the practice of the parliament struggles and the ruiling practice in the different development stages.These practices have played a vital role in promoting the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）.

The fourth chapter mainly expounds the intercourse between the UCPN（M）with other communist Parties in both Domestic and Foreign Countries.The development of the relationship between the CPN（M）and the CPN（UML）can be divided into two stages.The first stage is the stage of being hostile to each other（1995—2005）,and the second stage is the stage of The building and development of the relationship（2005—）。After a period of unpleasant experience,the relationship between the CPN（M）and the CPC returned to normal in 2007and has been further developed since then.After participating in nepal's peace process,the relationship between the CPN（M）and the RIM began to grow apart gradually.

The fifth chapter mainly expounds the reasons,significance,and prospect of the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）.The reasons of the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）are analysed in four aspects:creative integrating the basic principles of Marxism and Mao Tse-tung Thought with Nepal's actual conditions to provide scientific theoretical guidance for the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution;always taking to solve two basic problem of New Democratic Revolution in the first place to provide solid class basis for the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution;adhereing to the united front of Democratic Revolution to provide extensive social basis for the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution;adhering to combine the firmness of strategy with the flexibility of Tacticstp to provide correct strategic route for the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution.The chapter also elaborates the significance of the sucessful development of New Democratic Revolution of the UCPN（M）.Finally this chapter deeply analysed the and opportunities and challenges being faced with by the UCPN（M）andt its developmental prospects.
