Warring States historical documents are very scant,the chronicle of this period is thus unclear.As consulting the king's chronicle is one of the most important dating method to study this issue,which is the key to solve the chronicle problem of the Warring States period,and it will contributes to further research of the history of this period.

Part one of the book is a supplementary study on the king's chronicle problems of some states that include Qin,Wei,Yue,Eastern Zhou dynasty,Qi,Han,Zhongshan,and Yan.

The first chapter mainly discusses whether king Jinggong is the first ruler in the king's list of the Qin State; and on this basis,it reexamines the year when that Text of Cursing the Chu State had been written; at the same time,it is combined with the Chu bamboo slips that were excavated from the Baoshan chu tombs,it also discusses the dating of the demise of the Ba state.

Combined with the existing academic views on the king's list of the Wei state,the second chapter mainly discusses the years of king Wenhou's reign and Wuhou reign.And it discusses the year of a new-ly excavated dagger-axe named dagger-axe of the prime minister cast in the nineteenth year（《十九年相邦 戈》）.

The third chapter incorporates the discussion of the names and lineage of the Kings of the Yue state in bronze inscriptions,it explores the year of the king's reign of Yue,and also discusses the dating of the capital relocation of Yue to that of the Wu state.

The fourth chapter discusses the year of the king's reign of other states including the Eastern Zhou dynasty,Qi,Han,Zhongshan and Yan.As for the Eastern Zhou dynasty,it mainly discusses the years of kings Jing's and Yuan's reign.As for the Qi state,it studies the year of king Tiandaozi,Tianhe,Tianhoutan,and the later Huangong's reign.At the same time,it explores some historical events of Qi in the early Warring States period,which were mentioned in the Tsinghua bamboo slips Jinian.Concerning the Han state,it mainly discusses the years of Aihou,Yihou,Zhaohou's reign.As for Zhongshan,combined with the bronzes inscriptions of the Zhognshan,it expounds the years and lineage of kings of Zhongshan.At last,it investigates the year of king Chenggong's reign of the Yan state and the relationship between MinGong（愍公）,Mingong（闵公）and Wengong,and the relationship between Jiangong and Ligong.

Part two of this book,is mainly based on the unearthed documents such as the Tsinghua bamboo slips Jinian,It explores the king's chronicle of some states.The fifth chapter discusses king's chronicle of the Chu state combined with the records of the early Warring States about Chu found in the Tsinghua Bamboo Slips Jinian.The sixth chapter studies the king's chronicle of the Jin state.It firstly discusses the lineage seen in Jinian,and then discusses the lineage after king Liegong.The seventh chapter discusses four king's chronicle from Jianzi to Xianhou of the Zhao state.The eighth chapter is combined with the related records in Jinian; it discusses the king's chronicle of the Song state.The ninth chapter systematically discusses the the king's chronicle of the Lu state based on the year of king Mugong.Focusing on the year of king Chugong's reign,the tenth chapter mainly discusses the lineage of the kings of the Wei state recorded in the Shiji,and also studies the dating of fall of the Wei state.Since the tenth chapter has been hired by Study of the history of Chinese,this book only save the directory.

On the basis of the above discussion,the appendix of the book revised the Chronology of the six states in Shiji,and makes it more convenient to use.
