在城镇化和市场化的进程中，个体农民逐渐从原来的亲属关系、社区隶属、村庄认同等地方性共同体脱嵌出来，传统时期的道德规范、村规民约、公共规则、宗教信仰对农民的约束与规范作用越来越小，中国乡村社会开启了别样的个体化进程。本书分析了个体化对乡村社会关系、乡村治理、农村文化三个方面的影响，认为乡村社会关系的个体化一方面给农民带来了私人领域的自由、权利，激发了个体的积极性、独立性、能动性；另一方面，个体化也带来了社会风险的独自承受、权利与义务失衡、共同体归属感的逐渐丧失、村庄公共规范的日趋解体、互惠合作的日渐减少等。个体化的这些消极方面为乡村社会整合带来严峻挑战，如何将农民个体追求自由权利限制在一个合理范围、寻求个体性与社会性的均衡统一成为个体化乡村社会建设的当务之急。为此，本书提出以公共性的视角，从乡村公共空间、公共规则、公共精神、公共服务、公共交往五个层面建构乡村社会公共性，应对个体化的消极方面。

In the process of urbanization and marketization, individual farmers have gradually become separated from the original local communities such as kinship, community affiliation, and village identity, and the traditional moral norms, village rules and people's agreements, public rules, and religious beliefs have less and less role in restricting and regulating farmers, and Chinese rural society has begun a different process of individualization. This book analyzes the impact of individualization on rural social relations, rural governance and rural culture, and argues that the individualization of rural social relations brings freedom and rights in the private field to farmers on the one hand, and stimulates the enthusiasm, independence and initiative of individuals. On the other hand, individualization also brings about the sole bearing of social risks, the imbalance of rights and obligations, the gradual loss of the sense of community belonging, the disintegration of village public norms, and the decreasing mutual cooperation. These negative aspects of individualization have brought severe challenges to the integration of rural society, and how to limit the pursuit of freedom and rights of individual farmers to a reasonable range and seek the balanced unity of individuality and sociality has become an urgent task in the construction of individualized rural society. To this end, this book proposes to construct the publicity of rural society from the five levels of rural public space, public rules, public spirit, public service, and public communication from the perspective of publicity, and deal with the negative aspects of individualization.（AI翻译）
