Iterative innovation is an emerging topic in the era ofInternet and an important measure to cope with environmental change and uncertainty. Although it is already proved to be valuable,little theoretical work has been done to explore its internal mechanism. This book studied the developing and evolutionary mechanism of enterprise-user interaction during iterative innovation process to promote the conceptualization and theorization of such phenomena. This book elaborated the iterative innovation process of five subjects,identified 23 interaction events and extracted the characteristics,driven force and functional mechanism of enterprise-user interaction.

The conclusion consisted of 4 points:

First,the diversity and dynamism ofenterprise-user interaction during iterative innovation process. This book analyzed characteristics of enterprise-user interaction in the process of iterative innovation from the static and dynamic perspective. The static view described the composition and role play of interaction,and the dynamic view explored the dynamic evolution features in different stages of the innovation process. Based on the 23 interaction events,this book refined and summarized the two characteristics during iterative innovation process:diversity and dynamism.

Second,both of the context and actions facilitate theenterprise-user interaction. Through coding and analyzing the interaction evens,this book explored the driving factors of enterprise-user interaction from the firm and user side,in order to form the research viewpoint with the situational value. The driving factors at the enterprise level mainly included the uncertain situation and the lack of resources. And in terms of user,the influencing factors mainly manifested in the motivation of user participation and the firm-user relationship.

Third,enterprise-user interaction could influent the choice of iterative pattern and the implementation of enterprise-user mutual learning. Through the analysis and summarization of 23 interaction events,two important effect factors are identified. First,enterprise-user interaction can influent the choice of iterative pattern,and the interactive activity encouraged firms to choose the more flexible,dynamic and innovative iterative methods. Second,the development of enterprise-user interaction also directly affected the implementation of enterprise-user mutual learning,which promoted to obtain valuable feedback and enrich the existing information.

Fourth,There are two key paths between enterprise-user interaction and innovation performance. The first path is that enterprise-user interaction could promote to achieve new product innovativeness and speed to market. The logic of the formation of this path is that the development of enterprise-user interaction promoted the enterprise to adopt a more flexible and dynamic iterative way,and through swift action and continuous improvement,it promoted the improvement of innovation speed and the realization of innovation novelty. The second path is that enterprise-user interaction through mutual learning to promote new product innovativeness and speed to market. The formation logic of this path is that the implementation of enterprise-user interaction promoted the realization of organizational learning and user learning,while the realization of enterprise-user mutual learning promoted the improvement of innovation speed and the realization of innovation novelty.

This book had three theoretical contributions and three practical enlightenments.

In theory,this book made three contributions. First,for iterative innovation research,the perspective of enterprise-user interaction analyzed the functioning mechanism of how interaction influenced iterative innovation performance. Second,for innovation research,this study explored the new innovation pattern in the era of Internet,facilitating the evolution of innovation research. Third,for user interaction research,this study emphasized the significance of user interaction in the era of Internet and explored its mechanism,contributing to the extension of user interaction research.

Inpractice,the contributions mainly included 3 aspects. First,for enterprise innovation practice activity in the era of Internet,this book had shown that iterative innovation is a new paradigm of practical innovation evolution. The enterprise needed to adopt enterprise-user interaction to promote innovation performance and reduce the failure rate. Second,for transformation and upgrading of traditional,the study suggested that enterprises should overturn the traditional management thoughts and adopt newer innovation paradigm. Meanwhile both “grassroots entrepreneurship” and traditional enterprises needed to focus the user to achieve the purpose of the innovation. Third,for policy makers and implementers,it should create a corporate culture of tolerance failure. The government should pay more attention to cultivate entrepreneurs' literacy and skills,as well as the government policy should be involved in business groups with different levels of entrepreneurship,to promote the development of social economy.

Thisbook contributed three innovation points:

First,thisbook promoted the conceptualization and theorization of the phenomena of iterative innovation from perspective of. Based on the features of iterative innovation phenomenon,this book deeply explored the enterprise-user interaction during iterative innovation and identified some conclusions,which made up the existing research for iterative innovation deficiency problems in theory,and promoted the development of iterative innovation research topic.

Second,thisbook identified the differentiated feature and dynamic development process of enterprise-user interaction. From two dimensions of horizontal and vertical,this book analyzed the formation and evolution mechanism of enterprise-user interaction in different stage of iterative innovation. Due to the difference in purpose and content of interaction,the group composition and role play are manifested in different features,meanwhile the way of interaction are shown in different. The difference characteristics of different stages highlight the dynamic evolution of enterprise-user interaction during the iterative innovation process,and then lay the foundation for the analysis of the impact of interaction on the iterative innovation performance.

Third,this book refined and summarized the two unique paths of the impact of enterprise-user interaction on innovation performance. Existing literature about user interaction is more directly describes the user interaction effects on the performance of value. And because of the different research point of view from different scholars,it showed disunity and even a contrary research conclusion. According to current research,this book refined and summarized the two unique paths through five exploratory case study. One is that enterprise-user interaction could promote to achieve innovation performance through choosing iterative pattern,and the other one is that enterprise-user interaction could promote to achieve innovation performance through mutual learning. The two paths are helpful to solve the existing research debate and enrich the relevant research of user interaction.
