Abstract: In 2012, China and CEEC launched the "16+1 cooperation" framework, and the Czech Republic is one of the 16 CEE countries. From 2013 to 2014, Chinese leaders launched the initiative to jointly build the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (referred to as the "Belt and Road"), and 16 Central and Eastern European countries, including the Czech Republic, were included in the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative. In November 2015, the governments of China and the Czech Republic signed a memorandum of understanding on intergovernmental cooperation to jointly promote the construction of the Belt and Road. In March 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to the Czech Republic, and the two governments signed the Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Czech Republic on Establishing Strategic Partnership. Driven by the above-mentioned series of important events, bilateral relations have entered a new period of development.
