本书主要探讨了明四夷馆及鞑靼馆的设立、鞑靼馆的蒙古语教学、蒙古语译官在明朝与蒙古的边贸活动中所起到的作用等问题。通过搜集、整理在中国、 日本、德国图书馆保存的《华夷译语》鞑靼来文，考察了《华夷译语》不同版本、不同抄本中鞑靼来文的情况、《华夷译语》鞑靼“来文”与明四夷馆的教学关系、《华夷译语》鞑靼来文翻译中存在的问题、《华夷译语》鞑靼“来文”的文书格式、洪武本《华夷译语》鞑靼来文汉字音译规律，并对洪武本、永乐本《华夷译语》进行校释，对蒙古文部分进行拉丁转写、还原为蒙古文。

This book mainly discusses the establishment of the Ming Siyi Hall and the Tatar Hall, the teaching of Mongolian in the Tatar Pavilion, and the role of Mongolian translators in the border trade activities between the Ming Dynasty and Mongolia. By collecting and sorting out the Tatar texts of the Huayi Translation preserved in the libraries of China, Japan and Germany, the situation of the Tatar texts in different editions and different manuscripts of the Huayi Translation was investigated, the teaching relationship between the Tatar "communication" of the Huayi Translation and the Ming Siyi Museum, the problems existing in the translation of the Tatar language of the Huayi Translation, the format of the Tatar "Communication" of the Huayi Translation, the transliteration of Chinese characters in the Tatar language of Hongwuben's Huayi Translation, and the proofreading of the Huayi Translation of Hongwuben and Yongleben.
