This book is a scholarly treatise on the philosophical thought of Steve Biko, a mid-20th-century South African Mandela-style anti-colonial and anti-racism crusader. After a historical review of the Black Awakening Consciousness Movement led by him, Marbogo Moore pointed out that the philosophy of Black Awakening Consciousness expounded by Biko focused on solving the problem of black identity and liberation in the world of white hegemony, and that the African existentialist philosophical tradition to which it belonged was both different from the Western rationalist philosophical tradition and had deep roots with the ideas of Hegel, Sartre, Fanon and others. The core of Bico's existential philosophy emphasizes the concept of self-liberation—the black identity of black people as "black in the world" is the first step towards liberation. The theoretical essence of racism is a complete denial of black humanity, and the theory of racial integration proposed by liberalism is full of contradictions and hypocrisy.
